The members of the Guadalupe Appraisal District Board of Directors (B.O.D.)are placed in their directorships by votes cast by the taxing units. The vote allocation is determined according to the levy produced. Generally, the duties of the B.O.D. are to select the chief appraiser, approve the budget, and set policy. The B.O.D. has limited authority concerning the actual appraisals of real and personal property in the district. The Board of Directors does have authority over appraisal to the extent of contracting and budget.
